Getting to Morrumbene Beach Resort

To get to Morrumbene Beach Resort you will need a 4x4 vehicle.
-
All 4x4s must have at least 1 Fire Extinguisher, 2 Reflective Jackets, 2 Red Warning Triangles as well as 2 Yellow and Blue Mozambique Warning Triangle in case of a breakdown.

Please note that there is currently no shop at the Resort, the nearest markets and shops are in Morrumbene, Maxixe or Masinga.
Requirements for Entering:

A valid and acceptable passport or travel document that will
remain valid for your entire stay in Mozambique. You also need at least two empty pages in your passport.

All visitors (except citizens of Swaziland, South Africa,
Tanzania, Botswana, Malawi, Mauritius, Zambia and Zimbabwe) need a Visa, which can be obtained on arrival at some
airports like Maputo, Vilanculos and Pemba; and at some land borders or at Mozambican embassies, high commissions
or consulates.

Visas on entry can be purchased in Meticais and US dollars.
In the southern parts, South African Rand is also accepted. If you are heading into Mozambique from South Africa,
then you can get your Visa in major cities.

If you require a Visa, you must obtain one from the
Mozambican diplomatic embassies at least seven days before your trip (however it is not advised to do this last
minute).
Health Requirements:

Mozambique is a Malaria area and it is therefore recommended
that you take precautions before your trip.

It is highly recommended that you consult your doctor before
your trip and it would be wise to take precautions against diseases such as hepatitis, malaria, tetanus, as well as
yellow fever.

If you do not feel well when you have returned from your
Mozambican trip, it is important to notify your doctor that you have been in Mozambique with possible exposure to
these diseases as soon as possible.

In the case of Malaria, the incubation period (time between
initial infection and showing symptoms) differs but usually symptoms start between nine and 40 days (some types may
even take ten months before symptoms start).

It is important the visitors know the time the border posts
close and open. The existing posts and there operational hours: at Ressano Garcia (06H00-24H00), Namaacha (06H00-20H00),
Goba (06H00- 20H00), Ponta d`Ouro (06H30-17H30), Machipanda (06H00-18H00), Cuchamano (06H00-18H00), Zóbwè (06H00-18H00),
Milange (06H00-18H00), Giriyondo (08H00-15H00) and Mandimba (06H00-18H00).

It is recommended that guests arrive well before the mentioned closing times.
Vehicle Requirements:

It is preferable that you travel to and in Mozambique with a
4X4, as Morrumbene Beach Resort and most of the surrounding attractions require a four-wheel drive vehicle.
Must have at least 1 Fire Extinguisher*, 2 Reflective Jackets, 2 Red Warning Triangles as well as 2 Yellow and Blue Mozambique Warning Triangle in case of a breakdown (*Fire Extinguisher must be recently serviced)

A privately owned vehicle or trailer/boat trailer, within the
SADC (Southern African Development Community) countries must have the registration book or documents. A good idea is
to make certified copies of your registration papers. You will be required to show this upon entry at the border.

If the driver is not the registered owner, then a letter from
the owner, authorising use of the vehicle is required.

If you are driving a hired vehicle, then the rental company
must give a letter of authorisation to the driver, to use the vehicle in Mozambique.

It is strongly advised to insure your vehicle comprehensively
and remember to check that cross-border travel is also covered.

In Mozambique you drive on the left hand side of the road.
-
Two emergency triangles per vehicle are required by law.
-
If you are towing a boat or trailer you must have the, yellow
triangle on a blue background, towing sign on the front right of your vehicle and on the back right of the boat or
trailer.

The wearing of seatbelts is law in Mozambique.

Make notarised copies of your driver's licence and passports
and never give your driver's licence or passport to anybody (including traffic officials) – give a notarised copy instead.
